Website deployed

· 2 min read

Deploying a site on cloudflare the “normal” way took more time than I thought. I would not have been able to figure out all the nameserver changes, the MX, TXT, AAA, etc. by myself. Pulled through and deployed, and now the site is live! Thank AI for that. Not gonna spend a lot of time on this post cuz I really did not pay attention. I just followed along the instructions claude gave me. Learning this deployment step by step is not worth the time for now. But I did keep an eye for possible security issues.

I had to “transfer” the domain I bought from NameCheap into CloudFlare. For that I had to add it into my cloudflare dashboard, which then created two new nameservers, and then in NameCheap I had to replace all existing DNS nameservers with the 2 CloudFlare ones. Then I had to create a “worker” (has access to my github) who picks up my repository, builds it, and keeps it running. Other things I set up were Turnstile (instead of a CAPTCHA), and set up a domain email id (to receive emails from users).

If I ever learn about all this properly, I might write my learning, but I don’t think that is happening in the near future.
